TECHNICAL, LIGHTWEIGHT AND SAFE

Super lightweight and technical backpack for ascent-oriented freeriding

Highlights

• All important items of equipment can be stowed or retrieved without having to remove the backpack
• Very compact, technical, lightweight and minimalist
• Ergonomic design

The new RAVINE is a LIGHTWEIGHT and TECHNICAL freeriding backpack for demanding freeriders who don’t want to waste any time getting to the next steep face descent. What makes it so special? You can stow or retrieve all your important items of equipment on the go, without having to take it off.

With the aid of a quick-attach parallel ski fastener with carabiner, even wide freeride skis can be attached to the backpack in one easy movement if you need to carry them for short passages. Crampons and ice crampons can be stored in the handy extra compartment at the base, so they are always close to hand without you having to take the backpack off. The separate safety compartment provides quick access to all items of emergency equipment and a light ice axe, while all items in the main compartment can be accessed either from the top or the side. Furthermore, the RAVINE 28 scores highly with the usual attachment options for skis, poles, rope, helmet and ice screws, and includes a map compartment and hydration system compatibility.

Thanks to the ERGONOMIC FULL CONTACT LIGHT BACK SYSTEM, the backpack distributes the load optimally across the back and fits snugly to the spine without slipping. For additional spine protection, the RAVINE 28 can be equipped with the CLASP SPINE PROTECTOR on the inside. The spine protector can be purchased separately, is certified to motorcycle standards and slides easily into a separate inner pocket.

In addition to safety and functionality, the focus of the RAVINE 28 is also on the environment: The freeriding backpack is completely PFC-free and is also made from recycled polyamide using a climate-neutral process.

The Ravine is the best ski mountaineering pack I have ever used. It carries all the tools you need for a day of skiing and climbing and allows you to access them super easily and efficiently. I really like the crampon pocket at the bottom of the pack, and I also really like that you can open it up and increase the volume of the main compartment if you aren't carrying crampons. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and I like the mesh pocket on the shoulder strap a lot. I am a member of the Ortovox team and work as a full time mountain guide.
